Sharing My Evolution

Hi all, my name is Naho and I have been with Camp Now for almost a year now, working as an Art Fairy and Design Intern. This past winter I worked on the G.E. Fox storyboard. I have just started my semester at Hunter College in New York City. It is a very big school, and most students go to class and then go home. At first I thought I would be missing out on the social aspect of college but have found that it gives me the opportunity to see things and meet people outside of school. College has given me the freedom to choose how to spend my time, which means I am more focused on my schoolwork and interests. In my free time I draw, visit museums and read books that I have been meaning to for ages, all things that I was not able to crealitate enough time for while I was living upstate.

I am studying psychology, because I would like to better understand the reasons behind the way people think and behave. I think it is important to know how people in general tend to act, to effectively navigate the social and economic world. Beyond that, psychology is a discipline that encompasses my interests as far as motivation, human consciousness and interaction between people. This semester I am also taking a studio art class, to make sure that I set aside enough time to make art. Although making art because I have to is not ideal, I think it will help me prioritize being creative even when I have a lot of school work to do.

I have found that the mentality of Crealitation for me makes my life very goal oriented. Last semester, I only put effort into things I really cared about. While this was productive, one negative aspect that I noticed was it made new friendships feel like networking. While it does make sense to surround yourself with people who you can benefit from, I hope to find more of a balance this semester.

Love Now,

Naho
