Creating a Beautiful Reality, Together

Hi friends,

A photo my friend took of me when I asked her to make me look "professional".

My name is Gabby Nelson. I am writing from my parents’ home in Norfolk, CT. I frequently come home on the weekends to relax after my busy weeks as a student at the University of Connecticut (better known as UConn).

I am a student in many ways, as we all are. I am studying Urban and Community Studies in the classroom, learning how to lead and motivate groups of people through my yoga teaching and as president of a club on campus, exploring what it means to be a good friend and citizen, and peeling back many layers of fear to uncover my most pure desires for my life after college. Studying the Art of Crealitation helps me to find clarity as I navigate being a student at UConn and a student of life.

I met Maze here in Norfolk at the United Church of Christ six or seven years ago. My mom, sister and I watched her Sunday broadcast called This Abundant Life and frequently listened to The Tumbleweed Cabaret on car rides. This was before the Crealitation series was being published, but it was at this time when the seeds of the importance of creating your own reality were planted in my mind.

I reconnected with Maze this past summer and visited the Camp Now Art Farm to teach yoga. My favorite part about the yoga class was when we all sang “Freedom” at the end. There is some special magic in stretching, breathing and moving followed by joining voices in song. There will be more yoga to come at the Camp Now Art Farm. Will you join us?

I am now working to develop a gift for the Camp Now Store. I like creating with my hands and sharing these creations with others.

For me, being a part of the Crealitation community means being a part of an endless cycle of giving and receiving. I’m working on slowing down, being true to my soul and creating something beautiful every day.

Until next time my friends,

Gabby
